If you are a personal trainer, chances are you would like to get more clients. Training people for fitness is your passion, but unfortunately, lead generation and getting clients takes a lot of work too! After reading this article client generation for you should become a lot easier, because I will reveal the exact steps I use to generate PT clients for trainers I work with. Step 1 – Determine your offer Your offer needs to be good enough to motivate a person to contact you but not too generous because that will ultimately decrease your earnings and make you come off as too desperate. Whether it’s one of these or something else, you need to make sure you are comfortable with using it. The right offer can set you apart from the competition and significantly reduce your cost-per-client. Step 2 – Facebook Page and Advertising Account This step is easy but important. All you need to do is click on the “Ads Manager” button on your homepage and go through a quick registration process. Plus, you need to also create yourself a Facebook page, in case you don’t have one already. Make sure your Facebook page has at least 20-30 likes. You can send invites to your friends or ask previous clients to like it. Step 3 – Create a Landing Page A landing page is also referred to as “mini-website”. It’s a single page which has got only 1 task – get people to contact you. There are many tools you can use to create beautiful and highly effective landing pages: Leadpages, Unbounce, Instapage and other. They are all good. Just choose the one that you like the most. To create an effective landing page you will the following things:

  • Benefit-driven headline
  • Text describing your service
  • Testimonials
  • Call to action (ask them for their contact info – name, email and phone number)

Step 4 – Create Facebook Ads A perfect Facebook ad needs to accomplish 3 things:

  • Speak to your audience (their location + emotional pain)
  • Show the benefits of your service/product
  • Call on them to take action

You need to make sure that your ad speaks the language of your ideal customer, plus, show them how easy it is to just take action and contact you. Here is a sample ad I am running for one of my clients right now. It has generated over 20 high-paying clients already.

As you can see, in this ad we call on people from Reston and Herndon which are cities in Virginia. Then, we ask them a qualifying question to seek for the right people. Right after that, we describe the service in a very benefit driven way and finish it all off by inviting them to take action. Not sure how to create ads? Step 5 – Get Leads and Prosper This is the best part because this is where you get to reap the fruits of all your hard work! If you follow this blueprint, you will be waking up to emails about “lead notifications” and in the email, it will show you 3 and only 3 lines (lead’s name, email and phone number). These are kind of emails personal trainers I work with wake up to.
